What is Focused Shockwave Therapy

Focused Shockwave therapy uses high energy sound waves that are delivered to a precise target inside the body. These sound waves trigger tissue healing and reduce pain.

Superior to Radial Shockwave Therapy

Focused Shockwave therapy produces minimal vibrations at the skin surface makes it easier to tolerate. In comparison Radial Shockwave therapy uses maximum vibration that can be painful.



When in use Focused shockwave machines are also much quieter than Radial Shockwave Machines.

How does Focused Shockwave work

Shockwave Therapy uses acoustic waves to deliver energy that promotes regeneration and reparative processes of bones, tendons and other soft tissues. 


The acoustic waves create capillary micro-ruptures in tendon and bone. This causes growth factors to be released. Shockwave therapy accelerates collagen synthesis. The newly created collagen fibres form longitudinal structures making tendon fibres stronger. 


Shockwave therapy reduces Substance P, histamines and other metabolites that increase pain sensation. This helps prevent the development of inflammatory oedema and provides pain relief.
